Rihanna stepped out at the Macy’s Department at the Westfield Century City mall in California to a waiting throng of photographers who were looking to take her picture on Saturday.

The entertainer was releasing her new fragrance called Nude by Rihanna for the fans with several lucky buyers getting the chance to meet the star. While the stage was all about the perfume, Rihanna definitely overshadowed herself by hinting she was wearing a necklace given to her by Chris Brown. On Saturday the entertainer took to Twitter to show off the necklace to the fans.

“He told me ‘you better not give it away,’” tweeted Rihanna from her official Twitter account. Included with her cryptic message was a photograph of the same necklace she was wearing at the perfume launch, but no bottle of frangrance. The gold, thick jewel stood out against the soft white dress she was photographed in at the California promotion.

The first-week sales figures for Rihanna latest record are in, and the news is good: Billboard reports that Unapologetic has landed at No. 1 this week, a career first. The album — her seventh in seven years — brought the singer her strongest sales week ever, with 238,000 copies sold.

This breaks Rihanna’s streak of having the most No. 1 hit songs without a No. 1 album. (Last week, her latest single “Diamonds” became her 12th to top the Hot 100, passing Whitney Houston to become the artist with the fourth-most top singles.)

“We are so proud and happy to deliver Rihanna her first #1 album in the U.S.,” Island Def Jam president Steve Bartels said in a statement. “Taking an unusually short runway and turning it to an advantage — like the unprecedented 777 Tour — is a testament to the teamwork, ingenuity, ethic, and belief in the legacy of this artist that showed in every single hand that touched this project.”

Before Unapologetic, Rihanna’s best sales week belonged to 2010′s Loud, which landed at No. 3 with 207,000 moved units, while her previous chart peak was 2007′s Good Girl Gone Bad, which debuted at No. 2 that year.

She has done it yet again. The iconic Barbados-born singer and actress, Rihanna recently released her seventh album and before she was even through promoting it in her 777 tour, the album had already hit the top of the charts in ten countries around the world. The 55 minutes and six seconds long album has generally received positive acclaim from many music critics.

Fast forwarding through the songs, the first thing you notice is the variety of genres incorporated into the album. The singer has definitely gone a long way in ensuring that listeners get a taste of everything from the retro and upbeat disco duet with Chris brown to the really personal ones like mother Mary and Love without Tragedy. The album also features many other voices like Eminem, future and Mikky Ekko.

The first half of the album features songs with heavy and really danceable beats. Most of them talk about love and relationships mostly referring to her ex-boyfriend Chris brown. The second part gets a bit lighter with more soulful and quieter songs. Her single, Diamonds, released earlier in the year is also featured in the album.

Generally the album is in some ways much better than the previous ones. The songs in unapologetic, prop her in a new light of an emotional susceptible girl who has been hurt instead of the party hard, tough image we are used to. The personal nature of the songs has appealed to many music fans. The album will undoubtedly leave a lasting footprint in the music world.

Rihanna, didn’t disappoint during her performance on Sunday night’s X Factor results show. The singer wore a figure-hugging lace dress which left little to the imagination as her skin was clearly visible through the thin material. The star added a splash of colour to her get-up by painting her lips a shocking pink shade and showed off her long blue nails.

The pop star took to the stage on the ITV show to perform new single Diamonds. She wore a revealing black lace dress while water rained down on her on the stage of the talent contest. More photos coming soon!
